The padded drum vibratory roller is designed to be used for cohesive materials like silt, clay, or various moist / wet materials and is ideal for applications where deep compaction is required such as foundation preparation, trench backfilling, and subgrades. Drum oscillation keeps the roller in contact with the surface on uneven terrain for a compact finish in many different situations. An offset drum design allows the right side of the roller to extend past the machine. This is very useful when compacting next to sidewalks, walls, or curbs. Keep in mind that the padded drum will leave behind indentations in the ground where the pads have rolled over. 

A case drain (3rd hydraulic line on machine) is required to operate this attachment.
